CertiVox and PKWARE Partner to Provide Enterprises Easy-to-Use and Robust Data Security

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., and LONDON, UK, February 27, 2012 - CertiVox, an information security company, and PKWARE, the industry leader in data-centric security, today announced a strategic partnership that will provide an easy-to-use, affordable software solution to strongly encrypt data. This new alternative will provide customers with simplified key management while keeping data secure in public, private, and hybrid clouds.

Currently, the PKWARE SecureZIP security software is used by thousands of enterprises to achieve regulatory compliance and manage risks associated with data breaches. To implement the tightest security, these enterprises have also installed a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system to create, manage, distribute, use, store and revoke digital certificates. An integrated PKWARE and CertiVox SkyKey™ IaaS solution provides an alternative for organizations looking to minimize the cost and complexity associated with traditional PKI systems. CertiVox's SkyKey offers a proven cloud-based encryption key management system that makes it easy for companies with limited financial, operational and IT resources to achieve compliance with regulations like HIPAA/HITECH Act, PCI DSS and FIPS 140-2.

“Up until now, businesses concerned with securing their data had to invest in a key management system which involves significant operational and financial challenges,” explains V. Miller Newton, President and CEO of PKWARE. “Our partnership with CertiVox provides the most robust security without the need for additional hardware or software and enables organizations that do not have an established PKI to implement a certificateless cryptography-based data security solution.”

“The combination of our SkyKey IaaS encryption key management solution with the proven PKWARE SecureZIP software offers a massively simplified method of secure data exchange, even with external partners,” says CertiVox CEO Brian Spector. “This partnership makes securing data easier than ever for individuals and across enterprises; a new approach that alleviates the burden on IT departments, end users and business partners to robustly secure critical data."

For example, Spector explains, after just one authentication, all communications can be shared securely without the need for recipient pre-enrollment, passphrases, certificates or complex user workflows. The solution also takes the key management hassle out of meeting policies and regulations.

PKWARE Announces Free IBM® zBX Blade Software Offer

Program Enables Data-centric Security throughout the Enterprise Data Center

Milwaukee, WI (February 6, 2012) - PKWARE, Inc., the industry leader in data-centric security and portability, today announced a new program to extend data security and data reduction to all enterprise server platforms on IBM® zEnterprise™ Hybrid Computing. Companies who own an IBM zEnterprise™ BladeCenter Extension (zBX) and purchase PKWARE SecureZIP or PKZIP for z/OS® or Linux on System z, will get the equivalent PKWARE Solution on all of their zBX blades at no charge.

This program enables secure sharing and movement of critical data across an extended multi-platform computing environment. Joint IBM and PKWARE customers will benefit by the ability to optimize workload deployment using best-fit technologies with a common management infrastructure (for both mainframe and distributed system resources) to drive down costs and improve innovation.

“Our mainframe customers want to share data quickly and securely throughout the enterprise and within the data center,” says Susan Zaney, SVP Marketing and Product Management for PKWARE. “PKWARE is the only data security and compression solution that extends across the unique hybrid computing model of the IBM zBX blades and across operating systems without added hardware complexity or unreliable bridging methods. By offering free software for the zBX blades, PKWARE removes the cost barrier to securing the enterprise data center.”

Additionally, the PKWARE security solution meets FIPS 140-2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, HITECH Act and OMB M-06-16 compliance requirements and offers a contingency key that recovers encrypted data while using hardware cryptographic capabilities, even if a password is forgotten or a decryption key is lost.
