Software Engineer

Position SummaryResponsible for full software lifecycle development for new systems and existing maintenance code base including but not limited to designing, coding, debugging, unit testing and documentation. Reports and updates the status of projects and work assignments by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Devise or modify product components for the PKWARE product line.
2. Perform new code development to meet Business Requirements.
3. Makes changes to existing product maintenance code base as directed.
4. Adhere to change tracking and source code management practices.
5. Creates, updates, and reports on project plans.
6. Install and configure operating system components in supporting the application environment.
7. Perform unit tests on all work.
8. Develop substantive documentation.
9. Develop and perform cross-platform tests.
10. Develop work-around resolutions and code changes as needed.
11. Develops internal design specifications for discrete projects.
12. Responds to inquiries from project management team.
13. Leads technical review discussions with other developers and product management.
14. Occasionally travel as needed.

Experience/Education:

1. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university preferably in a technical/engineering/business major.
2. Minimum three years of experience in software development in a software company using the required technologies such as C/C++, Python, and Java.
3. Proficient developing on Windows and Mac OS X.
4. Proficient developing GUI applications, Windows Shell Extensions.
5. Proficient with multi-threaded programming and understanding of concepts behind it.
6. Proficient with SQL Programming.
7. Proficient with web technologies.
8. Security experience is a plus.
