Web Application Developer

Position SummaryResponsible for full software lifecycle development for new systems and existing maintenance code base including but not limited to designing, coding, debugging, unit testing and documentation. Reports and updates the status of projects and work assignments by performing the following duties.

Responsible for developing web applications, which may need to integrate with backend systems ensuring consistent and accurate data analysis and reporting. Requires application development experience building databases, logic processing, and presentation layer including the ability to code in multiple languages, such as SQL, Python, C++, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as familiarity with application development tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, design and layout software, and documentation tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Devise or modify product components for the PKWARE product line.
2. Perform new code development to meet Business Requirements.
3. Ability to evaluate complex concepts or knowledge of past discrepancies, trends, and relationships, and apply the concepts appropriately.
4. Makes changes to existing product maintenance code base as directed.
5. Adhere to change tracking and source code management practices.
6. Manage issues through problem tracking system.
7. Creates, updates, and reports on project plans.
8. Install and configure operating system components in supporting the application environment.
9. Develop substantive documentation.
10. Develop and perform cross-platform tests.
11. Develop work-around resolutions and code changes as needed.
12. Develops internal design specifications for discrete projects.
13. Responds to inquiries from project management team.
14. Leads technical review discussions with other developers and product management.
15. Occasionally travel as needed.

Experience/Education:

1. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university preferably in a technical/engineering/business major.
2. Minimum tfive years of experience in software development in a software company using the required technologies: SQL, Python, C++, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
3. Highly proficient in data analysis and representation.
4. Highly proficient in Windows Server and/or LAMP, JavaScript/AJAX/jQuery and CSS.
5. Familiarity with application development tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, design and layout software, and documentation tools.
6. Security experience is a plus.
