The company completed an internal audit resulting in the introduction of a compliance initiative requiring all customer data be secured while at rest. This meant sensitive customer data that was being stored on their UNIX servers needed to be secure, in addition to data being sent internally to their i5/OS midrange system for archival purposes.

As the company began investigating security options, they were aware of the PKWARE family of data-centric security solutions. The company reached out to PKWARE for assistance on this project.
