Our client is one of the nation’s leading providers of private mortgage insurance, serving more than 5,000 home mortgage lenders across the United States and Puerto Rico. They offer a critical component of our country’s residential mortgage finance system, protecting mortgage investors from credit losses as well as providing numerous products and services that help credit unions become more efficient and responsive to consumer needs.

The provider works very closely with their banking partners and, as a result, was subject to audits. Therefore, they began looking for the best method to protect their sensitive customer data. The provider identified the major areas of concern for data encryption including data at rest (stored on their local disk subsystem in their mainframe) and data in transit (via tapes and electronically) as it is exchanged both internally and externally with their extended network of partners and customers.

The provider concluded that the SecureZIP product family was the best solution to address their data security requirements. They deployed SecureZIP/PartnerLink on their mainframe to facilitate secure information exchange with their partners and they also deployed SecureZIP for server to the main application gateway FTP server. SecureZIP for server will allow the provider to encrypt and compress data that is in transit and at rest throughout their organization.

PartnerLink for z/OS will secure the data backbone of the company. By encrypting data at its source in the mainframe, a number of benefits can be derived including secure data transmission and secure data storage/tape processing. PartnerLink will allow the provider to seamlessly exchange information securely with their partners. In addition, the software is free to partners, easy to setup and deploy.
