Company Background
Our client is a State Government agency that collects tax revenues and administers tax laws. The agency ensures voluntary compliance with tax laws through public education and by providing assistance to taxpayers in filing tax returns and paying taxes. Additionally, the agency has the authority to initiate collection of unpaid taxes and apply enforcement measures when necessary.
Challenges and Requirements
The agency wanted to migrate from a Legacy system to a Windows server environment. They needed to securely transfer financial and taxpayer data files that move internally from server to server. The agency was required to follow guidelines in order to protect sensitive taxpayer information via AES encryption, so they needed to find a solution that would support that directive. They also wanted to have the ability to use digital certificates for authentication purposes.
Competitive Landscape
In order to meet these challenges, the agency considered two potential solutions: WinZip® and SecureZIP.
