Product News: SecureZIP® & PKZIP® Offer Day One Support of IBM z/OS® v1.11

Both SecureZIP and PKZIP support IBM’s newest version of IBM z/OS v1.11 on the first day of the operating system version’s release. PKWARE® worked extensively with IBM to ensure that SecureZIP and PKZIP would continue to meet the needs of early adopters and they could migrate immediately with full confidence.

“PKWARE is an IBM PartnerWorld Advanced Partner and is committed to serving the needs of the mainframe z/OS community,” said Jeff Cherrington, Vice President of Product Management for PKWARE. “We are one of a select number of vendors included in IBM’s z/OS pre-release Early Ship Program. PKWARE is committed to Day One support of each new release of the operating system, so our customers have the maximum opportunity to take advantage of the new capabilities IBM offers with each new release.”

PKWARE performs extensive regression and functionality testing to assure customers that SecureZIP and PKZIP are fully compatible with each new operating system release.

SecureZIP for z/OS is an optimal solution for providing durable security to protect data while it resides on z/OS or moves to other platforms, all while leveraging existing investments in hardware cryptographic acceleration within the mainframe environment.

PKZIP for z/OS provides file management and data compression. This results in more efficient data exchange through reduced transmission times and required storage requirements.

Both the SecureZIP and PKZIP family of products are interoperable, providing users comprehensive data protection across all major computing platforms.
