PKWARE Drives Significant Mainframe Efficiencies

Benchmark Findings Reveal Faster CPU Time and Elapsed Time

Anaheim, CA (August 6, 2012) -    PKWARE, Inc. the industry leader in data-centric security, today announced new benchmarks demonstrating record throughput for SecureZIP for z/OS® OpenPGP encryption processes running on IBM® System z® hardware. The benchmark proves that the SecureZIP application, which is a native encryption solution, uses significantly less CPU than non-native Java and USS-based encryption solutions, resulting in up to fourteen times faster in CPU time, and up to six times faster elapsed time.

SecureZIP for z/OS also includes System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) support which provides additional savings by making up to 90% of the encryption processing eligible for offload to the zIIP. Additionally, SecureZIP supports both of the world’s most prevalent file security formats, ZIP and OpenPGP making it easier for customers to share data with business partners regardless of the partners’ data security preference or computing platform.
