Yes, PKWARE provides the OpenPGP Command Translator to eBusiness Edition customers that want to use SecureZIP Server with existing OpenPGP script files. Contact your Product Support or your PKWARE Solution Engineer for information on how to obtain the OpenPGP Command Translator.
The SecureZIP program does not include the commands to make OpenPGP keys. This feature is provided in the key maker program included with the eBusiness Edition of SecureZIP. The key maker program installs and operates through a separate command interface from SecureZIP.
One important reason for separating the key maker functions from the SecureZIP program are to ensure the appropriate security controls can be maintained for managing keys. Use of keys can occur separate from key generation. This ensures that those persons and processing using keys do not have direct access to generate keys unless they are specifically provided access to the key maker program in addition to SecureZIP.
SecureZIP eBusiness Edition includes SecureZIP and Key Maker. SecureZIP can run on Windows Server, z/OS, and supported UNIX/Linux operating systems. Key Maker is a Java program that can run on any Java runtime version 6 or higher.
SecureZIP eBusiness Edition is delivered using PKWARE PKSFX® Self-extracting ZIP file technology. Download SecureZIP eBusiness Edition to a system running Microsoft Windows. Extract the files from the PKSFX file and then copy the platform installers to your target machine.
If you are using SecureZIP eBusiness Edition on z/OS, you can run Key Maker from within the ISPF panels. If you are using SecureZIP eBusiness Edition on Windows Server, UNIX or Linux, you can start Key Maker using the Java runtime command “java” with the PKKeyM.jar file.
Using Key Maker you can make OpenPGP keys in either RSA or DSA format. DSA format keys can only be created with 1024 bit signing keys.
Key Maker creates OpenPGP keys using standard keyring files. When using Key Maker as a batch job or from a command prompt, make sure you are using the correct keyring and that it is not being modified by another user at the same time.
