PKWARE Appoints Marc Punzirudu as Field Chief Technology Officer

Seasoned cybersecurity professional to support strategic customer and partner engagements

MILWAUKEE – February 15, 2022 –  PKWARE, a global leader in automated data security, today announced the appointment of Marc Punzirudu as field chief technology officer (CTO). In this role, Punzirudu will provide thought leadership, support strategic customer and partner engagements, and work closely with the product and marketing teams to advocate for PKWARE solutions.

“With more than 15 years of experience and several certifications in the compliance and IT security fields, Marc will make an excellent addition to our executive team,” said Tonya Cannady, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at PKWARE. “His strategic guidance in advising organizations to implement, optimize, and assess systems controls, risk management activities, and more will be vital as PKWARE continues to grow and support customers of all sizes across industries.”

As PKWARE’s lead product and cyber evangelist, Punzirudu will share his thought leadership and industry knowledge with strategic customers, partners and prospects at industry conferences, meetups, user groups and partner events. He will also be responsible for promoting PKWARE solutions, including the company’s PK Protect product suite, designed to secure customers’ sensitive data wherever it lives or moves.

Punzirudu is currently chapter president of the South Carolina Midlands Chapter of ISACA, an international professional association focused on information systems governance. Prior to PKWARE, Punzirudu served as the VP of consulting services at ControlScan, a managed security services company. In this role, he determined areas of strategic growth, enforced quality standards, and managed the financial aspects of the security consulting services department. He also contributed to the growth of organizations such as Coalfire Systems and NTT Security.

“I’m thrilled to join the highly qualified and skilled team at PKWARE, and to contribute insights from my unique history with PCI compliance, information security management systems, infrastructure security, and more,” said Punzirudu. “As Field CTO, I hope to continue to grow our customer base, integrate more PK Protect solutions with our customers to protect their sensitive data, and further our expertise in the data compliance and governance space.”

Punzirudu has earned multiple certifications and credentials, including PCIP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, and served as a PCI QSA for 10 years. He holds Bachelor degrees in both Computer Science and Computer Engineering from University of South Florida. He was named to the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Forty Under 40 in 2019, based on his professional character and personal impact on the payments industry.

This appointment comes as PKWARE continues to expand its leadership team, most recently with the promotion of Mike Wood to vice president of product management.
