PKWARE Extends Market-Leading Position, Announces Acquisition by Thompson Street Capital Partners
MILWAUKEE (May 14, 2020) – PKWARE, a global leader in automated data security, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis. The transaction allows PKWARE to expand and grow its Smartcrypt Platform and continue providing mission-critical data protection and security solutions.
As part of the acquisition, Miller Newton will transition from president and CEO of PKWARE to a board advisor position where he’ll be consulting the company’s board of directors.

Spencer Kupferman, former president and CEO of Global Software (now insightsoftware), has been appointed CEO. Kupferman brings with him 25 years of experience in the enterprise software industry. In addition, Spencer supports TSCP’s other portfolio companies, working closely with their tech-enabled software practice as an Executive Advisor.
